Instead of taking pictures of people, I take pictures of moments. I capture the emotion of the moment for that when you look back you know what you felt in the moment. Pictures are meant to represent who we are and how we feel.
Senior Portraits
A second location is always an option. Rachel had her senior portraits done at Union Station in Washington D.C. After doing a few photos there we moved to the National Portrait Museum. Photo sessions with two locations can seem a little tedious, but moving from one place to another was actually a lot of fun. It gave us a fresh perspective and new poses for photos. I loved doing this so much.

Individual Session
Boy was I lucky to get this individual shoot! First of all, Hannah is absolutely gorgeous. I mean, just look at those eyes! Secondly, Hannah is a harpist. The instrument brought a really intriguing element to the session. I even got to hear the harp hum as the wind gently blew across its strings. WOW! What a great shoot!

Couples Sessions
An engagement photoshoot is supposed to make you feel warm and fuzzy. That’s exactly what I strived to do when working with Kristina and Halee. Kristina was a little hesitant at first but after just a few photos I quickly learned that she was a natural. The way that she interacted with her partner—just being her silly self—gave me plenty of opportunities to capture candid smiles and funny interactions. This shoot was particularly great because you can feel the lover between them. I wish that was something I could photograph everyday!

Events
There’s never enough time to pose when you’re partying. Lucky for these kids, candid photography is just about my favorite thing. I don’t mind being in the middle of the crowd, if it means that I get to capture the energy of the room. I love to take photos of moments, not people. Pictures like these are meant to be felt. Quality is important but knowing the energy and the joy that you felt in the moment is even more important. I love doing sessions like these!
